It is with great joy that we announce the recent donation by Dion and George Russell of more than 350 water purification systems to our China Clean Water for Orphans Project. This donation, towards the remaining unfunded sites in 20 provinces, brings us to our overall goal of funding every orphanage in China and providing every institutionalized orphan in the country clean and safe drinking water!

Words alone cannot express our sincere gratitude to the Russell family for such a tremendous gift.

With this donation, and an equally tremendous donation in 2008, they have fully funded installations for virtually every orphanage in China, with our other supporters covering the remaining sites.

Many of our regular supporters come from the adoptive community and know all too well the health impact this donation will make. Many of their adopted children came home with one or more preventable illnesses, oftentimes water related. The Russell family’s donation ensures  a significantly increased level of health and development for the children in China’s orphanages, and we are very honored by their dedication to these children.

We have a long road ahead of us to provide sustainable clean water solutions to the more than 500 orphanages still on our roster. Extra engineers in every corner of the country, extra staff, and loads of additional help will be utilized; in the end, we will provide every site with our custom ACR water purification systems and every child in their care will have access to safe drinking water.

Support of our other projects: Dion and George have made contributions to our Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal and Tibet projects in the past as well. They have recently contributed to our work in Ethiopia and Cambodia for our 2009 Projects. Their combined contributions have thus far directly impacted the lives of more than 75,000 children.
